We were all born intuitive eaters. Whether bottle or breast fed, we naturally ate when feeling hungry and stopped eating when comfortably full. As toddlers, we ate a variety of foods with more curiosity and less judgement. We started out in life intuitively connected to our body’s biological cues of hunger, fullness and satisfaction.
But as we grow up, many of us start to attach other needs and desires to food. Turning to food for emotional reasons instead of biological hunger can wreak havoc on our ability to connect back to our healthy instincts around food. We can easily spend years out of balance living in a chronic cycle of dieting, overeating, undereating, or emotional eating - and it makes us feel awful.
I spent many years at war with food and my body image. Thankfully, I discovered Intuitive Eating and ended my lifelong battle with chronic dieting. Healing my anxiety around food and learning to value myself beyond a number on a scale freed me to enjoy life with more authenticity and joy.
Intuitive Eating is an evidence-based approach that teaches you to be the expert of your body. Having a healthy relationship with your food, mind and body will allow you to ignore the outside influences that plague our diet obsessed culture. It’s no wonder the two-billion-dollar industry keeps many of us trapped. Unbridled joy and creativity are being stifled when we obsess over food and our bodies. Intuitive Eating can free you from this influence and restore unconditional peace.
